I Am Running A Marathon, Not A 100 Metter Dash
“Be prepared to be in business for the long
haul.”
Another business mindset you
must adopt for yourself is this: You must pace yourself and work with energy and enthusiasm. However, you must ALWAYS guard yourself from burnout.
When people first start out
in their business they wake up in the morning with enthusiasm and joy.
They jump out of bed and
can’t wait to get to work and they view running their business as an exciting endeavor.
One month, two months, and
three months down the road they lose their drive and they aren’t motivated to get things done. They drag their feet when it comes to
completing tasks and often lose their drive to move forward.
What happened?
The biggest problem is
because people think that they can achieve their goals in a short time period. However, it is not always easy to get fast results. People get
discouraged easily because they don’t see the results right away and lose their initial enthusiasm.
The truth is it takes time to
build very successful business and a better approach to achieving any long term goal is to think of it as a large scale project that can only
be completed by achieving several short term goals over time.
Lesson: ROME WAS NOT BUILT
IN A DAY!
