I Will Treat Every Day Just Like Any Other Day At The Office
“Come what may, rain or shine, even when the world comes
crashing
down, I will treat each day as just “another day at the office.”
One of the most important things to consider
about being in business for yourself is when things don’t go your way.
Mike Dillard, one of network
marketing’s top trainers in the industry teaches this:
If you are in business and you lose your
biggest client to a competitor you might feel like heading downtown for a beer to drown your sorrows. But what you should do is tell
yourself…
“Losing this big client is nothing
because TODAY IS JUST ANOTHER DAY AT THE OFFICE.”
Or think about it like this…
You finally closed the biggest deal in your
life. You feel like throwing the biggest party in town to celebrate your great achievement. Life is FANTASTIC! But wait, getting this big
customer is no big deal either, because, “TODAY IS JUST ANOTHER DAY AT THE OFFICE”.
The point is that the business world is full
of ups and downs. Nothing is always stable and nothing is always certain.
“Business as usual” is one of the most
important mindsets you can learn. You must not let other things in your life distract you from carrying out the day-to-day operations that
will make and keep your business successful.
Had an argument with your wife? - Move on,
things will settle down, it’s just another day at the office.
Suppliers jacked up the prices? - Tough,
find a way to market your business better, it’s just another day at the office.
A loved one or a friend passed away
recently? – Of course you should take proper time off to grieve but get back to work as soon as you can and become more successful. After all
they would want you too.
This may sound harsh, but in business
customers and clients don’t care if you break up with your soul mate. They will at most sympathize with you but at the end of the day you have
to take care of your customers needs.
That’s business and business is results
oriented. You can’t let too many distractions cripple your business dreams or you may never get started. You might even lose it all once you
get a business up and running if you allow too many distractions into your life.
Lesson: Mixing personal emotions and
distractions with business decisions is a recipe for disaster.
